I know these cab and quick commerce companies are generating jobs for unemployed youths. But at what cost. They just hire anybody. No proper or professional training is there. I have seen drivers drive harshly. From my personal experiences. Have heard racist and bigoted conservations. There is zero professionalism of drivers from reputed companies. Sometimes the vehicle and the drivers are different from what's shown on the image. Than there is unrealistic targets of delivery goods in 15 minutes where something bad is likely to happen.

Coming to e-rickshaws. These are menace to streets. We almost came under one of those low floor buses as the rickshaw driver tried to overtake a bus yesterday. Similar incident happened last Sanskrant where all the passengers exclusive myself got hurt as rickshaw tried to overtake a bike and fell. I had jump so saved myself. Other people had bruises. You can't even ask compensation as the guy literally owns nothing. These rickshaws uses cheap Chinese equipments. Once I asked a rickshaw to stop. He hit the brakes but his rickshaw stopped after 200-300 metres away. The design and structure itself looks like it will fall down any second. I know streets are filled with over speeding Thars and noisy Bullets. But the problem are not the Thar and Royal Enfield but some donkeys driving it. Here the vehicle itself is dangerous to others.

I think rather than courts. Government needs to come forward and make strict laws for these cab aggregators. Also regulate these rickshaws. These are as dangerous as those roaming animals in streets.

I disagree with the ban on bike taxis. I use this service daily for my work commute and have only had a pleasant experience with Rapido. Not only is it faster through congested roads where 4 wheelers would get stuck, it is also significantly cheaper than cabs and helps bypass the taxi and rickshaw mafia which demands a high fare for short distances. The RTOs are creating issues for them just coz the taxi and Rickshaw unions are creating vote bank pressure on the political parties.

I am not against bike taxis. I am against how it's disorganised. No proper verification is done. Just anyone can sign up for these services.

This ones are tolerable, takes 7 passengers max, increases it's weight and people in my city drive it rationally ( Can't speed up due to 7 person weight)

This one's are a menace, in my city most of those have an extra motor installed at the back of it (below seat), speeds up unexpectedly, and many of the times the brakes don't function properly and being light weighted (2 passenger max, excluding kids), can fall anytime during taking a turn...

Also, the drivers are super rude, once I was taking a turn with a scooty, showed proper indicator and even hand signal but still it collided with the scooty.... And guess what? The driver started swearing at me, without even getting up from the road (Thankfully the rickshaw was empty)

What can I do with blind people? :cautious:

Those cycle type rickshaws with motors are the worst. They break down and loose control very often. It's illegal to modify and are banned.

Agreed on your 1st paragraph @iDJ bro, quick commerce delivery guys mostly drive harsh and don't take any safety measures, I've hardly seen anyone of them wearing a helmet.

Packing and delivering things in 10 minutes, definitely safety of delivery guy and other people is being compromised here.

Here I find Jio Mart, Vishal mega Mart and Blinkit good as they don't promise 10 min delivery Jio Mart delivery time is 10 - 30 min Vishal Mega Mart time is 2 hour and Blinkit delivery times varies from 5 - 7 minutes to 30 - 40 minutes, this model is good here delivery guys get sufficient time to drive and deliver orders safely can group orders also.

But Instamart is sticking with 10 min here, yesterday I ordered from there and delivery was delayed by 5 -7 min delivery guy was old, delivery was delayed because he was driving safely and wearing helmet I gave him 5 star rating but, if they deliver safely delivery will get delayed and they'll get bad ratings it's not their choice to drive harsh it's only option to survive in this job.

Coming to e-rickshaws as @Neel bro has posted an image of it this looks like some jugaad kinda thing bike + rickshaws body, thankfully in my city we don't have this type of e-rickshaws we have branded ones not modified and I have travelled in them they work very fine better than traditional ones, attached image for reference.

Agreed bike taxi's are very cheap my college is hardly 1.8 km from my home if use Rapido it costs around 40 - 50 for going there and same for coming back, whereas as you mentioned mafia they ask any amount for going there varies from 60 - 80 and for coming back not less than 100.

But sadly my college doesn't allow mobile in exams expect practicals so can't use rapido.

There's no need for 10 minute delivery in urban areas for quick commerce coz if its that urgent, people can just get it from nearby stores, like in my case, there's a provison store at just 50M from my house, but the reason why I order from Quick Commerce is just to save money coz at local stores, things are sold at MRP and sometimes its not even branded

My personal experience with Quick Commerce platforms & Bike Taxis:

Zepto is the biggest fraud among Quick Commerce platforms, ETA always shows 5 mins but it never reached to me before 15-20 minutes and I don't even mind that coz the store is actually far from here and due to Metro work, its very normal but why they fool everyone with false ETAs? I would have never used it if they didn't offer free cash which has also became useless now coz they include delivery charges of 50/75 in free cash

I remember once a zepto delivery guy was complaining to me that the store is far away yet they are pressurized to be as fast as possible

Blinkit has the highest prices for all products that I order online so idk what is the reason for it being so popular

Swiggy is 50-50, like for some products rates are lowest but handling charges are just second to Zepto but it also never reached to me before 20-30 mins

Big Basket is second fastest after Jio Mart for me and it is the only one that actually delivers in 10 minutes and rates are best for specific products

Jio Mart is the best among all coz it clearly says 10-30 mins delivery but reaches to me in 5 mins without any additional charges with best rates for eatables

Bike Taxis have been useful for me so far, only once the driver was driving harshly else its has always been a good & cost effective experience but I agree to the point that they should be given training before being hired and their vehicles & number plates should be verified regularly coz it happened with my friend once that neither the vehicle nor the number plate was same as mentioned on Rapido, only the name was correct

Off topic but u are quite lucky that your college is very near to u, my college was 7.6 kms away from my home so it takes ma 10-20 mins (without signal) & 20-30 mins (with signal) to reach there and I was always 10-15 mins late coz finding parking and reaching to class from there requires another 5-7 mins, I always used activa coz I can finish other works also in this 7.6 km journey while returning which is generally not possible in case of bike taxis or rickshaws

And which college is this where phones aren't allowed? Here I sometimes even forgot to put mobile in bag and sit in exams with it but my phone is always on silent so I never got caught

You were also lucky bro that you only travelled 7.6 kms to get to college. I have to travel a total of 26 kms from home to college. First, I walk 1 km from my house to the auto stand, then I take a 2 kms ride from the auto stand to the bus stand. After that, I travel 20 kms by bus to another auto stand, and finally, remaining 3 kms from the auto stand to college.
