isn't this distance very much normal in metros like Mumbai & Delhi?

When I travelled to Mumbai last month, I had to travel similar distance to reach everywhere we had planned to go

Actually in my case, my college was the most distant one from my home as compared to other colleges so I didn't consider myself lucky but your struggle is much more than me

Agreed bike taxi's are very cheap my college is hardly 1.8 km from my home if use Rapido it costs around 40 - 50 for going there and same for coming back, whereas as you mentioned mafia they ask any amount for going there varies from 60 - 80 and for coming back not less than 100.

But sadly my college doesn't allow mobile in exams expect practicals so can't use rapido.

What! ₹80 for just this short distance? The city where I live in, the auto drivers would charge merely ₹10-15. Anyway I would prefer going on foot for this short distance.

Coming to the topic:
The main problem is the auto drivers. I've seen many accidents; mostly because they would apply a brake anytime on the road where people don't prefer vehicle spacing.

The companies should perform proper tests before actually hiring anyone (whether it's bike, cab or e-rickshaw.) And the tests must be under Indian standards and circumstances.
