Good News Bought Airtel Xstream Fiber Black (Fiber + IPTV) connection with AOT-5221ZY (wifi 6) ONT

Today, after quite some time of wait, I got Airtel Fiber installed with Airtel Black bundled subscription plan (Fiber + IPTV) connection.

I have chosen the 200 Mbps speed plan. So far the connection seems to be working well. I have paid Rs. 2500 as the booking amount which will be adjusted with upcoming bills. Installation is free and hardware is provided with the connection as long as we keep the connection active.

I chose the newly launched AOT-5221ZY (wifi 6) ONT because the Nokia ONT was out of stock. Apart from this Dasan ONT was available which the installer recommended against. I plan to switch to Nokia ONT once it comes back in stock.

Overall, the connection and browsing experience feel snappier than JioFiber.

I don't plan to disconnect JioFiber. Maybe if Airtel works better for me, I will downgrade JioFiber plan from 300 Mbps to 150 Mbps or lower and keep it as a backup connection.

I have chosen the 200 Mbps speed plan. It costs 1099 + 18% GST = Rs. 1,297 per month

With Airtel Axis Bank credit card 25% discount (upto 250 per month) on Airtel bill payments, the cost comes down further.

which ott platform you get in that plan

Apple TV+, Amazon Prime, Disney+ Hotstar and Airtel Xstream Premium that bundles 20+ OTT in their own app.

I think only Netflix subscription is not included with this plan.

Final update #2 (this time really final)

This morning received several calls from different Airtel sales/service people saying service became officially live. Finally booked + installed via Airtel service person who assured on the spot booking + installation. The connection was booked and activated at the same time this afternoon.

I chose the AOT-5221ZY (wifi 6) ONT because Nokia ONT was out of stock. Apart from this Dasan ONT was available.

Fun apart, I booked the connection through Airtel service person, not sales person. So he came with the best possible device they had on stock.
