Hi everyone,

Wanted to share my experience after recently getting a new Airtel Xstream Fiber (FTTH) connection installed at my home.

After a long wait, I finally got the connection installed. :)

Plan & Booking:

I opted for the base plan of ₹499/month (plus taxes), which offers 40 Mbps speed with unlimited data (FUP of 3333 GB/month which is more than enough for me).
I chose the 4-month advance payment option during booking — total amount paid was ₹2355 (including taxes).
The booking was done directly from the nearby Airtel Store. They completed the KYC process in-store itself (Aadhaar verification and photo).

Installation Experience:

Installation was surprisingly fast — within 24 hours of booking, the technician came and completed the setup.
Fiber line was drawn neatly from the nearest junction box to my house. The technician was professional and explained the basic features of the ONT (modem-router).

ONT / Router Model Provided:

I was provided with an Airtel-branded ONT — Model No: H660GM-A

This ONT has dual-band WiFi (2.4 GHz + 5 GHz), decent range for a small/medium-sized house. I'm not sure if it's the latest or best model, but so far it works well for my usage — browsing, YouTube, OTT streaming, and mobile usage.

Fiber to ONT Setup:

The fiber line comes in through a small fiber converter box. The setup was clean and professionally done.

Future Plans:

Currently, I’m not opting for Airtel Black or IPTV add-ons, as I already have a separate DTH connection. Will consider upgrading in the future if required.

Final Verdict:

  • Quick installation (within 24 hours)
  • Decent ONT provided
  • Good speed stability on the base plan
  • Easy booking & KYC process at Airtel Store
  • Affordable pricing (₹499 plan suits light-medium usage)
  • ONT model provided depends on availability (can't choose specific model)

Conclusion:

Overall, I’m satisfied with Airtel Fiber for my usage scenario. For someone looking for a reliable broadband connection for home with reasonable pricing, Airtel’s FTTH 499 plan is definitely worth considering.

Apart from this I also got a Airtel Fiber Connection for my Office (also using AirFiber as secondary)

I got the below model AOT-5221ZY (wifi 6) ONT

I opted for the base plan of ₹799/month (plus taxes), which offers 100 Mbps speed with unlimited data (3.3 TB)

Congratulations @Digital Mastermind bro. Finally you are also a part of the Airtel OFC Fiber club. 🎉

Thanks for the in-depth review and pics. 👍

Dasan ONT is good for basic browsing. For higher speed plans, it's not that great.

I had option to opt for this one (Dasan H660GM-A) or the Zyxel AOT-5221ZY (wifi 6). Technician recommended opting for the Zyxel because Dasan is aimed for basic plan subscribers.

Yes, thats why at office if got the other model, may be becasue its on higher 100 mbps plan.

Either ways, both ONTs are good and function well.

Speed kam aa rhi hain. Airtel ko 40Mbps ke plan mein 48-49mbps dena chahiye aur 100mbps vale mein bi kam hain.

T: The speed is getting low. Airtel should give 48-49Mbps in the 40Mbps plan and the 100Mbps plan is also less.
