Hi Brothers

I have read in some websites that reduce back light and contrast to below 80 to save the tv screen from the shade of channel logo or dth logo to a particular place. Is it true?.

Then Please help me to select best picture setting for my sony bravia kdl w650a full hd led tv.I am using airtel hd.

Thank You.

bro other brand don't want:huh & i use lg lcd & led both tv picture is amazing & bro my suggestions please go to lg;)

From my experience,

Back light should not be more than 50. I recommend 40. It will add an unnecessary layer on the picture
Brightness also should be 45-50 percent of total value
Color 45-50 percent
Contract 80-90 percent
Colour Temperature - Warm (If you multiple Warm settings then keep at heighest)
Gamma - Lower the Gamma, brighter the picture
Dynamic Contrast - Off or Low
Keep all the other extra settings off like Noise Reduction, Cine Motion etc,.

Hope this helps!!

Lesser the Backlight - lesser the power consumption - longer tv life - better for your eyes... ;);)

and the brightness should always be less than the contrast for better clarity... i would recommend a 2:3 ratio, that is if the brightness is at 60 contrast shall be at 90... other settings can be set as per your liking... :k:k

no bro we cant just give a defined settings for a CRT tv... its best configured by looking at it... i would suggest something like this...

1. Reduce the color to 0
2. Keep the Contrast at 50%
3. Now adjust the Brightness so that the image looks crisp with no/less Raster (those small dots that appear on CRT TVs)
4. Now increase the Contrast so that the "Black looks Black"... this is the important thing in setting up any TV... you might say black will look black only... but i mean BLACK.. real 100% black... not grey/dark grey/close to black...
5. After you are happy with the "Black" you can increase the color to your satisfaction...

if you setup like this, i bet you can see a difference in the PQ... :nj

Hi Brothers
Currently I am getting superior picture quality for both hd and sd in my tv but why I am creating this thread is that in some websites is said that if the contrast and back light is more than 80 it will lead to the shade of the channel or dth logo in a particular place. Is that true?.Because I am use contrast at 90.

Please help me Brothers.

Thank You.

Contrast at 90 is fine, but I wonder why backlight needs to be at 80. It's best if that's reduced.
