Just wait for 2 days. You can see this. They air IPL Via Hotstar. Not directly on Jiotv app. Airteltv app also Air IPL Via hotstar.

IPL streaming rights only with hotstar. It will not be in Jio TV. Jio users need to download hot star to watch the match.

Dear members I am not saying that it as confirmation... I was saying as Possibility only on basis of report and though I also know chances of this happening is very less... let's wait for 2 days to know reality
And concentrate on auction which is happening.

They will not get MiB permission to launch a new channel this much early.

Reliance is bidding as jio the channels that they currently have on air is JV with Viacom.
& Bcci will not allow any company to telecast match on non sports channel.
So, if jio wins the only option that will be left with is to resale (sub licence) there rights atleast for few series before they get the licence/permission to launch a sports channel.

Saying its a possible joint bid between jio and star may not be correct.
With rights viacomm/Jio can start a sports channel by itself, like neo sports did.
But if jio and star teamed up, then sony will find it difficult

Jio will not share there profit with Viacom from these rights.
