No matter who the winner is if the bid is high there will be definitely be a price hike.In India broadcasters depend on advertising revenue more than subscription revenue whereas around the world broadcasters depend upon subscription revenue and not on advertising revenue.

Given the high bids advertising revenue is not enough for broadcasters so all will look to increase subscription revenue IMO.

What makes you think that if rival Sony got the right then they will not start war against DTH/Cable ? i think Sony is still with fight with Dish, a year ago Sony was with fight with TS.

As a consumer we must accept price hike otherwise how will the player/supporting staff and the people associated with sports get salary hike ? If someone cannot bear the hike then stop watching it afterall nobody is forcing him
