Discussion Bangladesh tour of India | 2019

He was also picked as the second keeper. Check BCCI team selection tweet..
My reference was MSK Prasad clarification.
“Sanju Samson has been included as a proper batsman, Pant will continue as wicket keeper. Sanju’s problem 3-4 years back was inconsistency. Now he has improved. He had a fantastic A series and wonderful Vijay Hazare. We consider him as a top-order batsman,” Prasad said after announcing the squads for the series against Bangladesh.

Is it a joke? Explain how it is?
  • For almost 1 full year, Rayudu was at the #4 position in ODIs. Then for WC, Vijay Shankar got selection as #4. Now he has disappeared in thin air from the Indian team, and now we have Iyer/Pandey/Pant/Sanju/Rahul all fighting for #4 (and possibly #5 if MSD doesnt return at all).
  • Karun Nair was the #6 during England tests in 2016 where he scored a triple hundred. One series later, he was dropped and never seen again, with Hardik occupying that for a long time later until Vihari came in..
  • Yuvraj Singh was the #4 for the England 2017 ODIs where he performed nicely and also in the CT 2017 where he performed decently. Then again 1 series later and an injury he was never seen in the Indian team again
  • Continuous selection of Rishabh Pant despite repeated failures in both batting and keeping.
  • Opening with Vihari for one of the Australia tests in 2018 despite having better option in Mayank.
  • Continuous persistence with KL Rahul in tests where he was horribly out of form (now he is out, that's a good thing that he did)

Ahead of the first Test match at Indore, the pitch is once again back under the scanner. As per head curator, MPCA, Samandar Singh Chouhan, it will be a sporting surface which will have assistance for everyone.
“Good wicket, sporting wicket, assistance for everyone, as per the format the pitch will be good for all five days,” Chouhan told Hindustan Times.
