Cummins named Starc's replacement for India Tests

Pat Cummins has been named as Mitchell Starc's replacement for the third and fourth Test against India after the left-arm pacer was ruled out due to a stress fracture on his right foot.

The 23-year old pacer returned to competitive cricket earlier this year after being on the sidelines for long due to a stress fracture on his back. Cummins, who was the Man of the Match on his debut Test against South Africa in November 2011, hasn't played a Test since then.

Australian media at it again! Compares Virat Kohli to animals with a horrible post

The newspaper had accused Kohli of hurling an energy drink bottle towards an Australian official and had also alleged that Anil Kumble stormed into the match officials' box for clarification over Kohli's dismissal in India's first innings.

To make the already fierce rivalry even worse, Fox Sports Australia shared the following post asking their followers to vote for "Vettel of the week", giving four options, Kohli, A Panda, A Puppy and A Kitten.

FOX Sports Australia on Thursday "Recent events have prompted a return of our Vettel of The Week award. Kids, ask your grandparents. The rest of you know the drill," the post read.

Vettel, in the urban dictionary lingo is used for the ‘sports villain’ and the Indian captain was put in the same bracket with a dog, a cat and a panda.

Fans from all over the world were taken a back with the media house's disrespectful post, some even terming it as racist, several slammed them in the comments box but FOX Sports Australia, on it's part, remained shameless in it's replies to the comments.

India vs Australia: Aussies hope for Nathan Lyon's full recovery ahead of 3rd Test

According to team's physio, there was a crack in the callus of his index finger. The team authority feels that a four-day break will get Lyon back in form.

"There's no doubt it impacted the way he bowled, but that's a part of the game. Fast bowlers bowl with bad toes and backs, spin bowlers over time have gone through some finger issues," Aussie assistant coach David Saker said.

"You probably have to deal with it as best you can, but there’s no doubt it affects a lot of bowlers. Just those little niggles, always affect people," he added.

India vs Australia 3rd Test 2017: Ranchi pitch to be a rank turner

The Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) Stadium is the venue, and it is believed the track on offer will assist spinners from ball one.

According to some reports, the pitch at Ranchi will have no bounce in it, and it will be spin friendly from day one. Even former Indian captain and local boy MS Dhoni has given his inputs on the pitch being prepared for the third Test.

Mitchell Marsh could be out for nine months with shoulder surgery

A shoulder reconstruction surgery is set to sideline Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh for nine months, according to a report on The West Australian on Monday (March 13). The 25-year-old returned midway from his tour of India with a shoulder injury, amid massive criticism over his poor form in the first two Tests against India, where he had returns of 48 runs and no wickets to show.

After an initial diagnosis ruled Marsh out for nine months, the all-rounder will be further assessed by a specialist in Melbourne this week, following which a decision on the surgery would be taken.
