High ticket price no dampener for India-Australia ODI - Times of India
CHENNAI: It looks like cricket fans in Chennai are all set for the India-Australia ODI to be held here on September 17. Ever since the news broke out that fans have to shell out 53 percent extra (28 percent GST and 25 percent Municipality Tax) for tickets, memes were doing the rounds in social media stating they could well watch the action on television.
However, fans turned up in numbers as early as 7 am in the morning on day one of ticket sales at the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) office. Despite heat, fans were willing to wait in the long queue that covered almost the entire distance of the Wallajah road up till the Bells Road junction.
