Gyftr is offering Flat 17.5% discount on all plans. Those having HDFC Infinia/Diners Black card, will get additional 16.67% benefit as reward points. I renewed my annual membership with effective price of 1036.67 on 30th Sep.

I got to renew my 1499 plan tomorrow.

I already have a Prime Voucher balance of 125 that I got from Paytm a few months back.

So my requirement is:
1499 - 125 = 1374

I'm planning to buy a couple of lower denomination vouchers that sums upto to 1198 [ Either 599x2 (or) 799+399 ].

New Prime Voucher balance (expected):
1198 + 125 = 1323

Remaining Amount Needed:
1499 - 1323 = 176

I could pay this remaining 176 by other payment methods.

Would this work? 🤔

There are certain restrictions on the number of vouchers that you can add to your Amazon account especially if it's from a same website. As far as I know, you can add only 2 vouchers from a particular website. Please go through the terms and conditions if possible.

1) Rs 100 Amazon Prime Balance Voucher is available Paytm again (Not sure if it is user specific. Probably not). It could be bought for Re.1 or 1 cashback point.

2) Rs.150 Amazon Prime Balance Voucher is available for free on Times Prime. It is available even for Times Prime Lite subscribers.

Thanks buddy

Redeemed both...

I renewed my Amazon Prime on Nov 2. It ended up costing me Rs.695 for the Rs.1499 Plan. I used Amazon Prime Vouchers for Rs.1274 and paid the remaining Rs.225 with debit card.

I got most of the vouchers by exchanging/buying it through the desidime website's 'Trading & Classifieds' section. I wish such a feature was available on onlytech though. But I get that the moderation & settlement of the inevitable disputes could be very challenging and that it will need a lot of dedicated resources.

Cost Breakdown Of Vouchers:

1) Paytm 125 Voucher (Got it for 1 cashback point from my own Paytm. So the cost is essentially nothing. Cost: 0)

2) Times Prime 150 Voucher (Got it from the Times Prime app for free. I only have a Times Prime Lite subscription that Times Prime itself keeps activating for me for free every year, ever since I bought a Lite subscription from them in 2021 using 50 Flipkart coins. All of that to say that this voucher's cost too is essentially nothing. Cost: 0)

3) AU Bank 599 Voucher (Got it from desidime by exchanging it with someone for an Amazon Pay Gift Card. Cost: Rs.350)

4) Times Points 150 Voucher (Got it from desidime by exchanging it for Amazon Pay Gift Card. Cost: Rs.40)

5) Fibe App 100 Voucher (Got it from desidime by exchanging it for Amazon Pay Gift Card. Cost: Rs.40)

6) Swiggy 150 Voucher (Got it from desidime by paying with UPI to someone. Cost: Rs.40)

Total Value Of Vouchers:
125 + 150 + 599 + 150 + 100 + 150 = Rs.1274

Total Cost Of Vouchers:
0 + 0 + 350 + 40 + 40 + 40 = Rs.470

Amazon Prime Subscription Cost:
1274 (Vouchers) + 225 (Debit Card) = Rs.1499

Important Notes:

1) I also got 3 more vouchers (2 Grabon vouchers & 1 Bajaj voucher) worth Rs.100 each from desidime. But they did not work, and Amazon kept throwing me an error message that said 'Something went wrong. Please try after sometime'. So I immediately informed about this to the people from whom I had gotten those vouchers, and received refunds for my payments. So, this is one of the risks when trading/buying vouchers from 3rd party services like desidime. We should be open for the possibility of vouchers that sometimes may not work, especially when it comes to vouchers of values 100 or 150.

2) Vouchers of values 100 & 150 cannot be added more than once if they are from the same source. The only exception seems to be vouchers from the Fibe App. The common conception is that 2 Fibe vouchers can be added to the same Amazon account. I could not check that though, as I got only 1 Fibe voucher.

3) We cannot add a voucher, if adding that voucher would make our Prime Voucher Balance to go over 1499. For example, I could not have added any more vouchers of value more than Rs.225 to my Amazon account. Because I already had 1274 as Prime Voucher Balance. And adding even 226 would make it 1500 instead of 1499. Amazon won't allow that & will throw an error message.

4) I recently came to know that Amazon Shopping Vouchers are also eligible to buy Amazon Prime Subscriptions. So if we have both Shopping Voucher Balance and Prime Voucher Balance on our Amazon account, the total value of both those balances will show up in the payment page as "eligible voucher balance" for payment.

5) If we are already using Voucher Balance for buying the Prime Subscription, the normal Amazon Pay balance will NOT be available as a payment option to pay any remaining amount. I had 235 as Amazon Pay balance, but it was not selectable when I was trying to pay the remaining 225 that I needed for buying the 1499 plan.

My prime also expired Nov 2.
My purchases from Amazon is very rare these days since flipkart offer same item at a lesser price. The movie library also no more exciting since most of the new releases go to netflix. Considering these things , i decided not to renew subscription, may think about prime lite if required
