And should I go for limited plans or unlimited as I came to know that streaming services don't consume much data .

Yes, it’s quiet like playstore but beware as it’s open source you can run into malware and viruses quiet easily if you download malicious apps.
It’s not necessary, but rather your personal preference. If you want every app at the your fingertips then definitely go for it.
