Airtel has gone bonkers. They have extended the grace period for me for the 9th time, each time giving me 3 days additional. So, till now I am on 3x9 = 27th day without any recharge, but each of the 9 times, I had to do *121*777# to prevent auto-debit of Rs 23. Even if I miss it once, I think airtel will take away Rs 23 and extend outgoing validity by 28 days.

But why all this drama, cant they just stop outgoing and NOT give me any grace period? I want the balance to stay in my account and no auto-debit. I will recharge as per my preferred time.

Airtel Pack is valid till 19-Jun-19.If not recharged,Rs23 will deduct on 19-Jun-19 from balance for 28day validity. To recharge, dial *121*51#.Ignore if recharged

now I have two query .
1. How To stop this auto Debit ?
2. I want to recharge from My Balance. But as per my convenience. What should I do ???

Worry not, I am here to help.
1. As per Airtel, Auto-Debit can only be stopped in "Grace Period" which is given after your pack expires on 19-Jun. So your Grace Period will be from 20-Jun to 22-Jun (3 days). On any of these dates, dial *121*777# and follow the prompts to confirm stopping of Auto-Debit. Your auto-debit will not happen and pack will now expire on 22-Jun.
Now the fun part. This cycle keeps repeating - for me, I am on 9th such grace period, each of 3 days. If you forget to do *121*777# within any of this grace period, then Rs 23 will get debited.
Important: Extending this Grace period is at the sole discretion of Airtel, may be in your case it wont happen. May be in your case, you wont be given even the First Grace Period - but that is needed to stop Auto-Debit. In my case, I had emailed Nodal Officer to understand when may I dial *121*777# and I have explained what they replied to me. Note: Dialing *121*777# when you are NOT in Grace Period does not allow you to stop Auto-Debit.

Clearly a gross misuse of a feature that should be available at the discretion of the user.

2. Using your balance can be done for select packs only. You may do so whenever you please to do so. Note that the Rs 35 recharge providing Rs 26.66 talktime, 100MB data and 28 days validity cannot be activated using Main Balance.

If my pack expire on 19th and auto debit will be on 19th (as per rcvd sms) then how can I stop auto debit from 20-22 june
???

Exactly the same question that I had in my mind- that's when I emailed nodal officer. They replied back saying that I will be given grace period of 3 days and I can use the code only during that grace period. I dont like this attitude of airtel.

Will you or will you not get the first grace period? A question only nodal can answer. Write to them and get it in writing that you will be given a grace period.

Hi guys, On my Vodafone Number, I am seeing the following offer:
Recharge with Rs 20, get Rs 20 full taktime and 28 days Outgoing Validity.

You may see this offer by entering your mobile number on vodafone.in website, or dialing *121#

One of my friends is also having this offer, so guys please check your offers - this is a good one to extend validity.

I think we don't need to stop auto debit. Just recharge Rs 100* or 500* and Rs 23 will deduct from your main account ballance for 28 days validity every month. Otherwise you have to recharge talktime pack Rs 35 but now you have to spend all Rs 26 talktime within 28 days because it's not carry forwarding anymore (seperate talktime balance) 🤔
*by these recharge you can get full main account talktime without validity. (Airtel, Kolkata)

They need that money to generate revenue. And it's cheaper than Jio's Rs 149 per month.

This is a segmented offer for few subscribers so as to prevent them migrating to other operators. This will not be launched as an open market offer for all users.

People don't even have 23/24 rupees to extend their validity but they can easily spend 149/month...How funny is that... :cautious:

I have SIMs from AirTel, Vodafone,Jio & also BSNL...AirTel is still the number one network in India in terms of data speed & connectivity...I get more than 65 Mbps from AirTel at my place in Kolkata where Voda gives me about 30-40 Mbps, BSNL is 3g but still gives about 2-10 Mbps & Jio the lord gives me speed in kbps...

I stopped using Jio because of too much call disconnects, pathetic data speeds & costly monthly rental plans...Infact whenever I get calls from several parts of the country & there are call issues, I get to know instantly that, it has got to be a Jio number & thanks to Truecaller, I can see that it's true everytime...Also many people always complain about the low speeds of Jio like I see online on various places...AirTel & Vodafone have much less call/data related problems than Jio...

VoLTE maybe is great for some people but being able to provide voice calls only in the 4G covered area is a huge drawback for Jio...

AirTel worked for me even in the train's upper-birth, in very high altitudes & also in the jungles where Jio didn't have any 4G tower rendering the number useless...In my life, I have never seen a single place where I didn't have any kind of network connectivity on AirTel...

Nothing can replace the flexibility of having the option of getting calls on 2G or 3G when the 4G signal is not present...

I have 2FA activated on many sites including Gmail, Facebook, eBay & Amazon...If for example, I am in a remote place where there is no 4G tower by Jio, I won't even get an OTP for these sites where I have activated 2FA...I know there are authentication apps like Google Authenticator but nothing beats the convenience of OTPs...

Most good things in life are not FREE...India mein "free" word sunte hi logo ka dimaag kaam karna bandh kar deta hain...:cautious:

Free mein sabkuch dega kyon koyi v company ?? All of them are doing a business, not an NGO or charitable organization...

Plus everyone knows that by giving free services for more than 1 year, Ambani converted all his black money to white & certain politicians helped him in that...

Aab toh hellotunes bhi free kar diya hain AirTel ne which has way more tune collections compared to Jio callertunes...
