It's time to use single Sim, no need to use spare. I Will port my numbers to BSNL soon.
I am also thinking same. I have only 2 sim one government sim which is totally free no cast and comersiry for me to use and second my most important number it is using all banking email adhar and others link. I will also port my wife's airtel sim to jio and remove jio sim.

submitted my documents today to port out from idea to bsnl. Bsnl is charging ₹120 for new sim which also includes frc of ₹106 providing balance of 70 6months validity and 300mb data. As per customer assistant a lot of people are portibg in to bsnl in up west.

Today I got call from Kolkata Nodal Office(airtel) (033-40183500)as last night I send Port msg .
The lady told whatever discussed here in this thread that I have to recharge minimum 35/- for 28 days . If any balance left post 28 days , the same will be lapsed .I have to recharge again after 28 calender days otherwise I have to recharge any unlimited pack .
Worst part is highlighted on bold font.
This is not something BSNL does. Balance is kept until you next recharge or can say forever. Here it feels like operators forcing us to recharge or they will eat our balance money!:wall:

Balance will lapse? This is actually breach of contract. They have just gone back on their words "Life time Validity". I had paid Rs 999 to buy Lifetime validity and I still have the SMS mentioning that I have Lifetime validity.

What is the meaning of Lifetime? Don't these guys understand? I'm perturbed at this act of telcos. No respite even after reaching to TRAI - they just ask your mobile number.

Does anyone have any link where TRAI has approved of these changes?

I have too bought airtel lifetime validity of ₹999 back in 2005/6 when it was launched. They said that the validity will be till airtel has telecom provider license.
