Sad News Airtel, Idea and Vodafone now requires you to recharge with a minimum pack to keep your sim alive

Just to understand this properly, for all those who have validity, for example till 2020 (even if it was decreased from some 2038 or 2041), the SIM will continue to be active?
 
But outgoing calls and SMS will be barred first. Sometime later incoming will also be barred if not recharged. No use in having the sim without incoming.
 
On the starting day of this thread my airtel sim validity was 2020
And now it become 2021.
 
Port your aim to BSNL. They have a plan called PLAN 8 where only 8rs gets deducted every 6 months and sim remains active.. call rates are like 1re or 1.20rs per min, but it is ok as you won't use it often.

Check first if you have plan 8 available. Generally it gets activated automatically after the initial plan expiry depending on available balance. I have couple of SIMs with PLAN 8 plan.

it seems Plan 8 (PV8) is available only in TamilNadu Circle.. Not sure though ...

I ported one of my SIM from Airtel to BSNL and got a validity of 365 days(1 year) along with call cutter, with the special recharge Rs 153/-
PV_153: Free bundled topup of Rs.100 with Rs.103talk value. Free PRBT(Enjoy FREE BSNL Caller Tunes With Unlimited Songs change) bundled for 28 days.Base Voice Tariff plan (in home circle and National roaming) On–net(LCL/STD)@ 15p/min and Off–net(LCL/STD) @40p/min.SMS (LCL/National)in home circle and National roaming @15Ps/SMS.

Spent Rs 153/- out of which Rs. 103/- Balance I received back as talk time, so only Rs 50/- was spent for a validity of 1 year + less call rate + Free Caller Tune for 28 days. Seems fair enough (y)

if i'm from chennai can i able to take this offer.since offers are varied from chennai and tamilnadu circle.
 
Log in to BSNL recharge porta portal.bsnl.in and make a login password and go to recharge option you will get all recharge options available for your mob.no.

@dinee bro it will be better if you contact BSNL CC or visit your local BSNL office. Only they will be able to give you the correct information.
The other way is to try what @stiwari bro suggested. If available then it will show under Plan --> Migration
