If you mention income under 6 LPA they show Rupay variant also. The benefit of that being that you can link it to UPI and earn 1% cashback on scan and pay transactions at merchant establishments also and it counts towards your annual spend target of 2 lac to waive off the annual fee.

Hope airtel axis card is discontinued. Correct me if I am wrong.

It is not discontinued. What happened is that earlier they used to offer this card as an upgrade to existing Axis credit card holders. Now it is not given. You can only get it as a separate card.

Rupay card with lower limit is offered as an add on card in most cases (HDFC, ICiCI etc.)

Axis bank case is different from others. Especially with the Airtel Axis Rupay card. It's not provided easily due to excessive benefits (cashbacks).
