The Tata Group announced the merger of its airlines Vistara and Air India by 2024. Vistara will merge with Air India after all the requisite approvals come in, the company said.

Vistara is netflix and air India is DD.

AirIndia improved very much after Tata takeover.

Vistara is far better than Air India. We will miss Vistara Services.

Don't worry it will take time to merge AirIndia will learn lot from Vistara and visa versa.

First AirAsia (India) will be merged into Air India Express by December 2023 and will be the low cost carrier which will compete with the likes of Spicejet and Go First.
Then by March 2024 Vistara will be merged into Air India which will be a full service carrier and will compete with the likes of IndiGo and Jet Airways 2.0
All of this ofcourse depends on getting the approvals from the NCLT and CCI.

IndiGo is also a low cost airline.

Without Jet Airways, we only have Air India and Vistara as FSC. Unless Jet revives, we will have a sole FSC in India with this merger.
