Flash News:
Supreme court not allowed any objections in AGR dues for Telcos as it is violation of Judgement.
Vodafone Idea shares crashed by 30%.
No further objections to be entertained, telcos must pay up AGR dues: SC
This is why judiciary should not be given so much power. Who the hell is supreme court to decide how payment is to be done. Govt. is trying to save lakhs of jobs by keeping vodafone running in India but supreme court is hell bent on making it dissolve. Net result will be VIL will declare itself bankrupt and end result will be lakhs of jobs will be lost alongwith few more banks get dissolved.

Vodafone- idea ,airtel should exit indian market.and supreme court to start new gsm company....

Supreme Court blocks the games of Telcos & DOT. They might settle before court judgement. AVOID drags so many years of time to avoid payment of dues (at least Self-assessed) or settlement with DOT.

Ok. If that happens good. If it doesn't then. Is it worth the risk?

Vodafone Plc. already takes the risk and write-off their investment in India in Dec2019. Now only option is DOT can temporarily run Vodafone Idea or merge its operations with BSNL.

the govt doesn't have a problem in receiving the money over 20 years...this SC judgement is baffling. what happens next? packup VIL or govt will find another way ?

This is simply ridiculous. The SG kept arguing that DoT has made some mistakes in AGR calculation and would like to re-visit over a period of 8 months. They weren't ready for it too and said entire amount has to be paid. How it would be paid would be decided in next hearing after 2 weeks when court will visit the rescue plan.

I was already having less and less respect for SC and this judgment vindicated my stand. This is simply abuse of power and SC has been doing it for years without any check .

Of course, the govt can bring an ordinance/law to undo everything that court said but that would be nuclear option only reserved when no options remains.

The court should know that Vodafone Group and Aditya Birla has nothing to lose now as they have written down everything. The employees, bank, government and customers will be the sufferers due to SC's own ego.

This is from Supreme Court
