Airtel is using Tata ELXSI iCX software on their IPTV STB. That's why its secure and no backdoor exist for any reverse engineering.

Yes apk installation is disabled.

Yeh the third-party apps installation is not available on iptv box ,now have to switch between tv and stb for using third-party apps

Some people's are telling they have succeeded in installing apk on thier airtel IPTV STB but i don't recommend using this method

As ES file explorer is already flagged as chinese spyware app back then thats why its removed from play store.
