I totally agree with this
more users + less bandwidth = less speed :tup
But don't u think that it also implies less money. But look at the 3G data charges of Airtel. 10 Gb cost Rs 1500. Is it fair ?:no

On top of that they are telling that u cannot use this Rs 1500(10 GB data) to use VOIP/OTT services or watch certain website and to use those services or watch website u need to pay more.

This is daylight robbery

thats the only reason they charge u high coz if they charge less u ll get 2 kbps speed. Remember less price = more usage. But bandwidth is same so further low speed.

devesh bro, i m using airtel 549 broadband plan - unlimited net
total 3 gb r free @ 2mbps n after usage of 3 gb unlimited net @ 512 kbps.

i think its very cheap.

Only 3GB is very very small
I use 1 Mbps unlimited which costs Rs 800(including tax). No FUP restriction :ohya

So u mean to get true 3G(10 mbps)speed we need to pay more , for example 10 GB should cost Rs 10,000 :lol

Everything is about demand and Supply but here there is demand and supply of 2 things customer demand of service and Demand of bandwidth to provide that service. we have sufficient demand but we have no bandwidth to meet that demand so the price is high.

Or govt should provide more spectrum :lol

There is another way out. In USA there are only few operators (maybe 3 - 4) but here in India there are lots. Less competition more spectrum. So Revoke license of some telecom operator. ;)

USA has 70+ operators. Not all are present nationally. Major are Sprint, Verizon and AT&T. AT&T has max sub base but the service quality is really poor. Lots of complaints.

Secondly govt cannot scrap the licenses its against creating good business environment. We already have a poor image in international market for this. The competition has helped us with cheapest call rates and brought lot of innovation in reducing costs. Wireless Data is expensive everywhere. Its the wireline broadband which is way better in international market then India. Reason is India is huge. Take example of China we have better speeds then them much better. Countries with less population and small geography are able to provide good speeds. We can also provide but it needs huge investment to build backhaul services. The Indian people are not yet ready to shell out so much just for internet. To get 250-300 GB data plan in US u need to shell out approx Rs 5k. Lower plans are expensive.
