You can go for it safely. I can say, you won't be disappointed.

Note 8 is a generation old. So you will get faster software update on S9+. S9+ is better imo.

I have similar opinion. Performance is great and as new till now. Only time I seen my phone heating is when I use mobile hotspot and download very large file using it, say more then 20 GB or so. Rest I never faced heating issue.

Breaking GTPL Hathway, Polycab Wires consortium bags BharatNet project worth Rs 1245.77 cr

MUMBAI: Cable TV and broadband company GTPL Hathway Limited (GTPL) has been appointed as Project Implementation Agency (PIA) of Package B for the implementation of BharatNet Phase ‐ II Project in Gujarat by Gujarat Fibre Grid Network Limited (GFGNL).

The project worth Rs 1245.77 crore is on EPC basis and includes survey, design, plan, execution with active/passive (OSP+Electronics) components with commissioning of complete network. GTPL Hathway has formed a consortium with Polycab Wires to jointly implement this project.
