Discussion Reliance Jio AirFiber set-top box related discussions

Some time ago, I discontinued my Jio AirFiber connection. However, their representative never came to collect the router and set-top box. Today, out of curiosity after 17 months, I connected the set-top box and was surprised to find that all TV channels and OTT services are still working. I’m currently using BSNL Fiber as my internet provider.

I’d like to understand whether continuing to use the Jio set-top box under these circumstances would incur any charges, or if it is considered unauthorized or illegal. Could you please shed some light on this?
Check, whether they have really discontinued or it is on credit basis

Good News Tamil Nadu govt to provide broadband connection of 100 Mbps speed at Rs. 200 per month

Even though I don't have high expectations on this scheme (which is just taken from dust for the upcoming election by TN Govt), I just hope this may force BSNL to give some decent base plans like that 20Mbps UL for Rs199 or even Rs249. Right now, BSNL is giving 25Mbps till 20GB only for Rs299 plan and that too for someone closing their old Copper LL connection and NOT allowing existing Fiber connections to change to this plan.

Discussion Expansion of Jio & Airtel Optical Fiber no longer happening after the entry of AirFiber?

Similar things Airtel does here for their wifi services. Our area house gates and walls have poster for Airtel wifi. There are also Airtel sales people with umbrellas to advertise and sell wifi. There are also people doing door to door visits to sell wifi.

I think Airtel is heavily investing in areas where ACT or Excitel Fiber are non existent. Just a wild guess. 👀
5 years before I tried very hard to get Airtel fiber so as to have landline atleast, since the mobile signals at my area is poor due to existence of the railway station. Mobile operators declined to improve the signal quality here.
I failed to get Airtel fiber here, then went ahead with local cable tv owned fiber internet and then switched to BSNL.
Even though I was a premium postpaid customer of Airtel holding a higher plan, those guys never turned up and fulfilled my need that time.

Jio starts deducting number retention charges

True ARPU greedy is Jio not Airtel. Lower income people had cheaper option before Jio's monopoly in the 4G market. A Rs. 10 recharge could last months. Now we have to spend over Rs. 100 on even state owned operator like BSNL just to make calls. Nobody wants unlimited calls. People would be happy with Rs. 50 talktime. Guess what you don't have any options here? Unless you opted for Jio's carrier locked feature phone. This whole unlimited thing is to tie you with operator for the lifetime.
