Airtel Xstream (earlier Airtel TV) app has been available on the smartphone platform since a long time, but this always restricted the viewer to watching the content on the small screen since it did not have an option to cast to the TV over chromecast. This is now set to change with the Xstream app now being available in the play store of Android TV. This was first spotted by an OnlyTech community member Nilu who uses the platform.
If you are an Airtel Thanks member and have complimentary access to video-on-demand content on the Airtel Xstream app, just head over to the play store on your android TV and search for the Airtel Xstream app. The app can be installed by clicking the install button.
Post installation you will be presented with the login screen where you need to enter your Airtel Prepaid or Postpaid mobile number or in case of DTH or Broadband subscriber, you can enter your registered mobile number and you will receive an OTP which needs to be entered to login and start streaming.
Keep in mind that the Airtel Xstream app for android TV does not have the option to stream live TV channels unlike the smartphone app or the web interface. It has a wide library of movies and TV shows.
Airtel Xstream curates video content from a wide number of OTT platforms like Hungama, Eros Now, Hoichoi, ShemarooMe, and the entire library of Sony and Zee bouquet of channels. It houses international content from production houses like Lion’s gate and special documentary videos from Curiosity Stream.
I don’t see the app in play store on my Mi Tv Box. Please share your thoughts.

Kinda useless with no live TV option.
Live TV will soon be available as per an internal update. Users will be able to access those channels that they have subscribed with their DTH plan with the XStream app as well.
