Telecom giant Bharti Airtel will now allow its prepaid customers to enjoy the convenience of paying their Airtel prepaid bill automatically through a credit card, ICICI debit card, or bank account through Airtel Thanks app. According to Play Store listings, the Airtel Thanks app has recently received an update to allow prepaid customers to use the auto-pay feature.
Airtel for long has allowed its broadband, postpaid, and digital TV customers to set up auto-pay through their credit card, ICICI Debit card, or bank account. One needs to provide their Airtel number and email ID where they would wish to receive an alert confirmation for the registration followed by entering of credit card details.
The What’s New listing on Airtel Thanks app listing on Play Store reads “Can prepaid users set up autopay- Yes, now our prepaid users can opt for the autopay feature & stay connected always.”
You will require a payment of Rs 2 for confirmation along with bank account verification to complete direct debit enrolment. To set up autopay for prepaid mobility, customers can follow the path Settings>Payment Settings> Auto Pay after setting up credit card with the Airtel Thanks app.
Airtel is seemingly yet to introduce the feature on its website with the dedicated microsite for autopay only allowing postpaid, broadband, and digital TV customers to enable autopay.
