Telecom giant Bharti Airtel yesterday received authorization from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) for multiple Access Service licenses under its existing Unified License (UL). The Access Service license has been granted across 8 telecom circles post-Airtel’s request in November 2020 for the renewal of the 8 expiring UASL licenses in 8 telecom circles.

Bharti Airtel now only has an erstwhile Unified Access Service License (UASL) in Assam, Bihar, Jammu & Kashmir, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh (East), and West Bengal. These licenses will likely be migrated to the Unified License regime as and when Bharti Airtel requests for the same, potentially closer to the expiry of the respective UASL licenses across the above-mentioned 6 telecom circles.

  1. My airtel kolkata SIM when roamed into MP it shows airtel in display only.
But when I visited WB it shows IND airtel – airtel in display
Is it due to Unified License for MP and not for WB cirle.
Jio always shows only one Jio in display whether in home circle or Roaming circle

  2. I just wish they had purchased some spectrum in B3 in Delhi and Kolkata. Network quality is not upto the mark in these 2 circles.
