Telecom giant Bharti Airtel has discontinued its Rs 2398 prepaid plan which offered 1.5GB high speed per data with a validity of 365 days. The plan has been discontinued and is no longer listed on Airtel’s website.
According to the prepaid recharge listings on Bharti Airtel’s website, the lone truly unlimited annual pack offering data benefits with a daily cap is the Rs 2498 prepaid plan which was introduced in the month of May.
Rs 1498 and Rs 2498 prepaid plans are the only prepaid plans listed on Bharti Airtel’s website which are truly unlimited and offer a validity of 365 days.
The Rs 2398 prepaid plan offered 1.5GB per day high speed data, 1 year access to Shaw Academy, Airtel Xstream Premium and Wynk Music subscription, Free Hellotunes, and Rs 150 cashback on FASTag.
The discontinuation of Airtel’s Rs 2398 prepaid plan will now push Airtel customers who wish to subscribe to a truly unlimited pack on an annual basis with enough data onto the Rs 2498 prepaid plan with the Rs 1498 prepaid plan being voice benefits centric.
The move will help Airtel increase its ARPU from annual pack subscribers by Rs 100 while Airtel customers will get more data benefits since the Rs 2498 prepaid plan offers 2GB high speed data per day whereas the now discontinued Rs 2398 prepaid plan offered 1.5GB high speed data per day.
