India’s one of the leading telecom service providers, Reliance Jio, has unveiled the Jio Smart Home services at its 46th Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2023. The Smart Home services will include Jio Smart Home devices, a Jio set-top box for entertainment, and a Smart Home app. At the AGM, the company also announced that the Jio AirFiber, a wireless high-speed internet solution based on 5G technology, will be available from September 19, 2023.
During the AGM, Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio, expressed his interest that the Jio Home service will transform the way we manage our residences with smart devices and internet connectivity. “Over 80% of data consumption in India happens indoors, and through our home offerings, we meet our customers where they consume most of their data. Entertainment is changing rapidly worldwide, shifting from linear to interactive. Jio is accelerating this trend in India. Our Set-Top Box supports JioCinema and JioTV+, with leading global streaming apps,” he said. Jio Smart Home services will work with Jio Fiber and Jio AirFiber services.
Moreover, Reliance Jio has also introduced a new Jio set-top box that will seamlessly integrate with the Jio Smart Home services and will enhance the entertainment experience. The set-top box will provide access to live TV channels, various OTT apps, large-screen gaming, and other apps and services. Further, the Jio Smart Home app will include a dedicated e-remote for the Jio set-top box and will provide the ability to use the smartphone as a gaming controller. The new Jio set-top box will come preinstalled with Jio apps, such as JioCinema and JioTV+.
Reliance Jio held its 46th AGM on August 28, 2023, where the company announced several products and services, including Jio AirFiber, Jio Bharat affordable 4G phone, new JioCinema features, Jio AI, Jio True 5G developer platform, and more.
