Reliance Industries on Monday announced multi-pronged prevention, mitigation, and ongoing support strategy that will be comprehensive, sustainable, and resilient. Responding to the call of duty to be at the service of the nation 24*7 in the collective fight against COVID-19, RIL has deployed the combined strengths of Reliance Jio, and all the 6 lakh members of the Reliance Family on its action plan against COVID-19.
Jio will enable access to world-class and dependable Internet services through JioFiber, JioFi and its mobility service. To ensure that everyone stays connected while at home, Jio will provide double data across all plans for all existing JioFiber subscribers.
Jio will also provide basic JioFiber broadband connectivity (10 Mbps), where it is geographically feasible, without any service charge, for this period. The telecom giant will also provide home gateway routers with a minimum refundable deposit.
Jio had earlier last week, renamed its ‘Cricket Pack’ to ‘Work from Home pack‘. Jio Work From Home Pack provides unlimited 2 GB high-speed data per day with a post FUP speed of 64 kbps. The pack has a service validity of 51 days and provides 102 GB of high-speed data.
Jio also earlier last week upgraded its data vouchers to offer 100% more data and bundled off-net calling minutes in its data vouchers. Rs 11, Rs 21, Rs 51 and Rs 101 data vouchers have been upgraded. All four data vouchers are now offering 100% more data at the same price.
