THANE: The body of a woman was found dumped inside a compartment of a suburban local parked inside the Kalwa locomotive shed on Saturday.
The woman was covered in blood and has stab wounds in her chest.
Police said the body may have been dumped after the murder, as the act appeared to have been committed earlier.
The body had been sent for postmortem and the reports would show whether she was raped, said an investigating officer.
The Kalyan GRP officials are said to be looking at video clippings of women captured by the CCTVs installed on platforms at the Kalyan station.
It is learnt that the local which arrived at Kalyan station from CST around 10.30 pm on Friday left soon after for the shed at Kalwa.
The cops are also inquiring with the porters and the homeless who use the platform as shelter.
