when you customise something heavily then it will take long time to change under the hood base stuff. That's why slow update. Now it's upto customers what they prefer. If they prefer regular base change then they should not choose heavily customised products like those i mentioned above and should stick to the base only
Slow update is not a problem..
but where is the update incase of xiaomi....?
take the case of 3S.. not a single upgrade has given. launched with 6.0.1, still runs on 6.0.1
Nd now its Jan 2018, my mother's 3S still runs on April '17 security patch.!!!

Most of the devices are already updated to 9, Only the last batch of devices are left to be updated which were launched in 2015 or earlier.
