The WTC is a gradual process and will be played over two years. England and Australia will be participating in the opening game of the championship as a part of the first Ashes Test that commences from 1st August 2019. The first edition of WTC will culminate with the final that will be played at Lord’s, London on June 2021.Teams in the top-nine ICC Test rankings (Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka and the West Indies) will take part in the tournament. Finals should be of 3 match series with neutral grounds so that no home advantage should be given to any team imo

Matches of the series should be equal to all teams. Some teams will get 120 points with only 2 wins and some teams will get same 120 points with 5 wins. Its not good.

The broadcast rights for each series belong to the Host Member Board as has always been the case, however, the rights for the WTC Final in June 2021 rest with the ICC.

Matches of the series should be equal to all teams. Some teams will get 120 points with only 2 wins and some teams will get same 120 points with 5 wins. Its not good.

I think they made it in such a way that the strong teams like India, Australia, England play more games which means lesser points to get per match while the weaker teams play lesser games which means more points to get per match. Should be a fair contest in my opinion. On a side-note, England is playing 22 Test Matches during this period...so cool

By the way, don't know why they play boring 2-Test Match series. Test Match series should always be 3 and above in my opinion

Pakistan will get full benifit by this strategy. Their maximum series are of two Matches only, No series with 4 or 5 match. They are also a better test cricket team compare to WI, SL, Bang.

number of matches in a series is decided by two teams not icc so a team is free to schedule only two matches in all its series
