Didn't miss KY, he'll not be in playing XI for 1st test.
KL is a fair selection, he scored a century in last innings in England.
As for ratings concerned, even if West Indies is whitewashed, it'll not boost India's ratings significantly but a loss to them will definitely result a nose-dive in ratings.
BTW, Indian selectors don't arrange any series, it's done by two boards with ICC's approval.

if a high rank team win against a low rank team there will slight increase in points for winning team and slight decrease for losing team but if reverse happen there will be huge decrease in points for losing team and huge increase for winning team. and also a draw is advantage for a low rank team. so playing against a low rank team doesnt increase any rating

Sorry I should have mentioned bcci not selection panel.so obviously bcci knew about all these and arranged for west indies tour.west indies one waste team in odi and test matches.This tour itself waste.bcci should have arranged nz,sa or bangladesh for home series.with the current indian team form this series will be one sided and west indies will be white washed in all formats
