Discussion Why are OTTs offered by broadband providers so bad?

OTT we require are likes of Disney+ Hotstar, Sony Liv, Prime Video and Netflix at affordable price. FanCode too if one is into sports. Charge ₹350 instead of ₹200. If you are selling broadband to replace DTH at households. These are what consumers want. Not the rest of the useless ones like Hungama Play, Alt Balaji, ShemarooMe, Discovery+ offered. Shemaroo's content itself is available on YouTube and Balaji itself is selling it's movies to likes of Netflix. Discovery+ rarely has new content. Who would want them?

These are available for cheap price (Rs.5 or Rs.10) to ISPs for bundling, even Airtel Xstream app have 25 OTTs, in these 15 to 20 are useless OTTs.

Budfy why do u single out Airtel for everything....also regional OTT appd r equally important and r not useless.... Regarding Hungama Play, Shemaroo Me, Ultra etc these r offered as sometimes OTT platforms itself reach out to content aggregators while at other times aggregator platforms reach out to them to expand content offerings and provide good range of content at one place

That’s how bundling usually works out of 10 maybe 2-4 will useful and others will be scrap same thing with Cable and DTH too
That’s how they can sell more expensive packs

I'm using Airtel fiber for last years as backup, still i can't satisfy with their OTT offerings. I'm happy with ACT fiber OTTs offerings as a primary connection.

That's because Airtel's rival Jio is offering much superior benefit at a lesser price.

They exactly had one good content which was one of the first Indian ott content that is Bose: Dead or Alive.

That's just marketing tactics for all I know. These useless other OTT offerings are plated to show as if lot many OTTs are given as compared to rival ISP, good analogy is how we used to write 2 to 4 para given a 5 mark questionaire in our school days
