Pretty much every new handset or tablet that comes out features a dual- or quad-core processor of some sort, and we're now well past the 1 GHz mark. With so many contenders, though, it's easy to lose track and become unaware of exactly which device features the fastest processor.

There are two main factors in determining the speed of a processor - its clock rate and number of cores. Since we've come to the conclusion that increasing the core count brings more speed boost than simply upping the frequency a bit, we'll be looking for the CPU which has the most cores, and highest clock speed. Please keep in mind that the theoretical speed of a processor does not translate into overall speed of the device that uses it.

RANK 3: Samsung Galaxy S III

The Samsung Galaxy S III gets the bronze in this competition, as it is sporting Samsung's own quad-core Exynos chipset, which is clocked at 1.4 GHz. This is an awesome achievement, but not enough to make it the fastest mobile device on earth!

RANK 2: HTC One X and LG Optimus 4X HD

The second place is shared by the HTC One X and LG Optimus 4X HD. Both of these handsets are extremely speedy, featuring a quad-core Tegra 3 chipset, clocked at the awesome 1.5 GHz. As a matter of fact, these are the phones with the fastest processors right now.

RANK 1: ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity 700

After that little hint we gave you, it is now time to reveal that the fastest mobile device in terms of CPU out there currently is a tablet - the ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity 700! This speedy guy also features a Tegra 3 quad-core CPU, but one that is even faster, running at 1.6 GHz. Congratulations to ASUS and the Infinity 700! Their achievement will soon be surpassed...

There is only One KING and that is APPLE..
No one can beat APPLE in terms of Faster Processing but sadly u dont have that option.

May be this one is only for android.

The ranking is based on the clock rate and number of cores. Maybe CPU speed in iPhone/iPad is less than these gadgets. ;)
