“We have removed surplus equipment on 24,000 sites out of the total 67,000 co-located sites. Additionally, we have also exited about 9,900 low utilisation sites. Both initiatives have yielded significant cost savings,” the company said.

“Our 4G population coverage reached 65% as of March 31, 2019, compared to less than 50% for each of the brands in August 2018,” the company said.

The company added 5.4 million 4G customers, taking the overall 4G subscriber base to 80.7 million.

Vodafone offering unlimited calling, 1.5GB daily data for 365 days to its prepaid subscribers

Vodafone has partnered with Citibank to offer its prepaid subscribers free unlimited calling and 1.5GB 4G data per day for an entire year.
To be eligible for the offer a user needs to be an existing Vodafone prepaid subscriber. The subscriber needs to go to the Vodafone’s website and apply for a new Citibank credit card. Once the subscribers receive the credit card, they will need to spend a minimum of Rs 4,000 in the first month to be eligible for the offer.

Subscribers will have the option to either spend Rs 4,000 in one go or do multiple transactions with the total expenditure reaching Rs 4,000 or more.

Voda Idea, Airtel lose over 4 mn users in June; Jio and BSNL gain: Trai

Telecom operators Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea continued to lose subscribers - 4.1 million combined - during June, while rival Reliance Jio added over 82.6 lakh users, according to data released by Trai.
In absolute terms, Vodafone Idea continued to lead the total subscriber tally at 38.34 crore, followed by Jio with 33.12 crore and Bharti Airtel with 32.03 crore. Vodafone Idea shed 4.14 million subscribers, and Bharti Airtel 29,883 customers during June, while the Jio continued to add customers at a breakneck speed.
Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) data showed that Jio gained 8.26 million customers in June, higher than 8.18 million additions it had notched in May.
