Vodafone 3G Smart Android Phone Price Drops To Rs 3,100


Vodafone has slashed the price of its 3G Android smartphone named Vodafone Smart, from Rs 4,995 to Rs 3,100. Vodafone is aiming to increase the popularity of its 3G network and speed up adoption of 3G service in India through this move. Vodafone Smart is based on a Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 processor and runs Google's Android 2.2.1 OS ( Froyo). The phone was launched way back in December 2011 and is manufactured by Huawei.

At the time of launch, Vodafone offered Double Data Benefit on 3G subscription. A couple of months back, the company slashed its 3G rates drastically, which helped many price conscious subscribers in India to shift to 3G and as of now, this seems to be the most economical Android phone in India. The phone sports a 7.1-cm (2.8-inch) capacitive touch display and houses a 528 MHz ARM 11 CPU under its hood.

The phone includes a 2 megapixel camera with Geo-tagging along with WiFi, Video recording and MP4/3GP playback, up to 32GB expandable memory, stereo FM and mp3 player. It also includes a free 2GB memory card.
