This is why, I hate this Stupid Company. They can easily bring better plans usable for common man, like slightly costlier than BSNL and much much cheaper than Airtel / Jio. But NO, they are simply following their Master "The Devil Airtel" like the old Hutch Dog.

Airtel / Jio has the luxury of being many people's primary number, which VoId lacks badly. VoId should compete with BSNL for secondary SIM status. Following Airtel and neglecting low income people will NEVER help them in the long run.

With each and every tariff hike, more and more middle class people are killing their secondary number. There is a great market available for secondary SIM with cheaper tariff, which only Airtel has the luxury to ignore (even Jio has JioPhone plans to cater them). VoId ignoring that market is outright stupid for their survival, imho.

Vi is still providing 24GB data on 1999 plans unlike Airtel and Jio.

BSNL can't compete with Vi/Airtel/Jio till they cover 700Mhz with 3L sites. It will take atleast two years(Once that happens, Airtel+Jio revenues will hit badly, Jio numbers are kept only for incoming for three months after recharge is finished, Airtel is used for superior voice quality due to Nokia IMS, but Airtel doesn't have 10Mhz sub-Ghz spectrum everywhere in a single band, BSNL can hit the revenues of both operators if they cover atleast 200000 sites by mid 2026). But I am hopeful for it as coverage with 700Mhz is really good. But anything above 1199/1299 is not good for yearly voice only plans. 89/99 for one month unlimited voice plans.

Airtel doesn't have any luxury right now. In one of the month post marriage of Junior ambani and tariff hikes, Airtel lost lot of customers and they will continue to do so in upcoming months. Airtel has close to 150 million 2G customers(103 million 2G customers and remaining those who recharge only voice calling plans, monthly/annually).

Vi still follows airtel way again,
Anybody remember the "PIED PIPER" Story, where the nomadic Piper plays his flute and all the mice in the town were mesmerized and follows him. He then bring them to the Hill (playing the tunes) and they all fell and die. Here Airtel is that "Pied Piper" and VoId is the mice blindly following the Piper and end its life. The same will happen to VoId, if it keeps on blindly following Airtel, imho.

(Even RCom once has the Ad with Hrithik as Pied-Piper for its "Simple Plan - No Conditions Apply", where All calls Local/STD/Roaming 50p/min plan during Docomo days).

They are offering truly unlimited data at daytime and night on unlimited plans. Also they are still catering to heavy data consuming customers like students. They are trying to be a segment while not going bankrupt.

It is just a survival Instinct. Their stronger competitors are offering UL 5G for high value plans and VoId introduced these plans to ring-fence their high paying customers. Are they giving UL data or at least bigger data like 10GB/28 days to minimum recharge plans (considering min recharge cost is NOT cheap anymore) ???
Also they are still catering to heavy data consuming customers like students.
Students or any high data using customers without 5G phone or BB in Home/Work. Yes, I agree. But why not giving better plans to low end consumers, who are loyal and recharges regularly, But give FREE 1GB per day to people who NEVER recharges their number???

When people suggest give cheaper plans for second SIM users / WiFi users than Airtel and Jio, they tell, it will hit on their ARPU. Come on, Whether giving 1GB per day FREE to NEVER-Recharging people, doesn't kill ARPU???
They are trying to be a segment while not going bankrupt
They are going bankrupt, because of blindly following greedy Airtel and ignoring vast segment of middle class and low paying customers, who are in very large numbers and in desperate need for good plans.

It is time for them to grow some balls and compete against Airtel / Jio, instead of handshaking with them and behave like an anti-consumer co. Sadly, Once they realize that and start compete against Airtel / Jio, it would be too late by then and even consumers will never care, if they go bankrupt.
