One of the best batsmen in the world, AB de Villiers played yet another outstanding innings guiding Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to a four-wicket win over Gujarat Lions (GL) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament.

Buoyed by the entry of Virat Kohli led RCB in the IPL 2016 final, owner Vijay Mallya expressed his happiness through a tweet and praised hero of the match, AB de Villiers.

Liquor baron Vijay Mallya, who is accused of defaulting on payment of bank loans totalling in excess of Rs. 9, 000 crore, is currently in Britain. However he didn’t attend any of the IPL matches to cheer his RCB, but he used micro-blogging site Twitter to support his team. After AB de Villiers finished unbeaten on 79 off 47 balls bringing RCB into IPL final, Vijay Mallya applauded the batsman with a tweet.

“When Plan A doesn’t work (Gayle), when Plan B doesn’t work (Kohli), there’s always plan AB,” wrote Mallya referring to the match-winning performance of AB de Villiers. No doubt, de Villiers deserves these words of praise. At one point of the match, RCB were 29 for five including captain Virat Kohli and Christ Gayle back in the pavilion. But de Villiers took the responsibilities on its own shoulder and played match-winning knock of an unbeaten 79 against the Lions in the semifinals to pilot the RCB into the IPL summit clash on Sunday.
