March 6, 1971: Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar makes his Test debut against West Indies at Port-of-Spain. Gavaskar is one of the greatest opening batsmen in Test match history. He is the first batsman to score 10,000 runs. He also held the record of 34 Test centuries for almost two decades before it was broken by Sachin Tendulkar in December 2005.
