Tata Docomo, the unified telecom brand of Tata Teleservices, on Tuesday launched a plan that offers unlimited STD and local calls with 1GB data for 14 days at Rs 148.

It also launched a plan that will offer unlimited STD and local voice calls for 28 days to any network along with 2GB of data at Rs 246 for 28 days.

Tata Docomo is also offering unlimited on-net calls for 28 days at Rs 103.

“This is a New Year bonanza for our customers; with the on-going holiday season, we want our customers to make maximum utilization of voice and data," Jamshed Gilani, Vice-President, Consumer Business Operations, Mumbai – Tata Teleservices, said in a statement.

The move holds relevance given how telcos are operating amidst cut-throat competition, especially post the entry of Reliance Jio, in order to retain their market share. Reliance Jio in December said that it will extend its free voice calling and data services till March 31, 2017, under its Happy New Year offer.
