SPN India acquires TV, OTT rights for T10 Cricket League

Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has acquired the India broadcast rights of T10 Cricket League, which is promoted by UAE-based T Ten Sports Management, a group company of the multinational and diversified conglomerate Mulk Holdings. The event will also be broadcast on OSN in the Middle East, Geo TV and PTV in Pakistan, Sky in UK and Willow in the US. The event also has the backing of Emirates Cricket Board and ARY Group promoted by Pakistani businessman Haji Abdul Razzak Yaqoob. The T10 league will broadcast on Sony’s sports channels and its video on demand (VoD) platform SonyLIV. As the name suggests, the T10 League is an even shorter version of T20 cricket. The tournament will have 10 overs in an inning. The league will be staged in Sharjah from 14-17 December. The league will feature six franchises Colombo Lions, Kerala Kings, Bengal Tigers, Punjab Legends, Maratha Arabians, and Pakhtoons. Majority of the players participating in the tournament are from Sri Lanka and Pakistan. It will have current and former cricketers like Virender Sehwag, Shahid Afridi, Kumar Sangakkara and Eoin Morgan taking part. Hyderabad-based Heera Group is the title sponsor of the event. The event is powered by Pacific Ventures and is supported by Rijas Group
