That Moto is a great option for sure. But if you (or your friend) are strictly avoiding Chinese phones, then go for Samsung M12 (4+64GB) same 6000mAh battery, HD+ screen with 90Hz refresh rate, Exynos 850 (8nm) @ same price 10k.
Exynos is slightly inferior than SD460, but gives better battery life and performance difference may not be visible for senior citizens (assuming they don't play fortnite like games).
ICICI bank offer Rs1000/- available in Amazon.
But frankly, Moto is least chinese of all chinese phone makers. The thing I hate to the core in the Chinese phones is the filthy ads, which is totally absent in Moto phones. Both are good options, imho...
