The animosity between the ICC
chairman N Srinivasan and BCCI
secretary Anurag Thakur refuses to
die as the former BCCI president has
now moved the Supreme Court
seeking criminal prosecution of
Thakur, The Indian Express has
reported.
Srinivasan has based his plea on
perjury charges against Thakur for
the "false affidavit" and "plethora of
misleading" statements.
The ICC chairman has made a
reference to BCCI's application
seeking SC's clarification whether
Srinivasan can attend board meetings
despite conflict of interest
allegations against him. In the
application, Thakur had made a
mention of Srinivasan storming BCCI's
August 28 Working Committee
meeting in Kolkata, insisting that he
wants to attend.
The board had also mentioned in the
application that Srinivasan was part
of the trust that owns the Chennai
Super Kings, which was a clear case
of conflict of interest.
