Tillakaratne Dilshan has been ruled
out of the first Twenty20 International
between India and Sri Lanka in Pune,
the Sri Lanka board announced on
Saturday (February 6).
Dilshan has been ruled out because of
hand injury and Niroshan d*ckwella
has been called in as cover. Dilshan
aggravated the injury in the semifinal
of the Super T20 Provincial
Tournament while attempting a catch
and as a result had to sit out of the
final.
The opener hasn't travelled with the
team to India and is expected to join
the squad for the second game in
Ranchi. Sri Lanka are already without
the services of Lasith Malinga and
Angelo Mathews, both out with
injuries, and will play under the
leadership of Dinesh Chandimal.
d*ckwella has been in good form and
has scores of 72, 51, 51 and 31 in the
Super T20 Provincial Tournament.
