Rahane wouldn't have played that shot if he bated at no 3. That's a slog shot, and he's not a slogger. He must bat at 1/2/3, not below that. If he isn't, there's no need for him in the team.

Rahane is not a finisher. In T20, he plays opening role.

Sanju Samson would suit better at number 6/7. Right now that seems to be Dhoni's target, to find his replacement at that position. Rahane is a top order guy, and he can't play at 6/7.
