Snapchat denies calling India a ‘poor country’; BoycottSnapchat trends on Twitter
#BoycottSnapchat is trending on Twitter India. The popular social networking platform is facing an outrage from its Indian users after a former Snapchat employee alleged that CEO Evan Spiegel was not interesting in expanding the business to ‘poor countries’ like India and that the app was meant for only “rich people.”
Snapchat , however, has turned down the allegations. “This is ridiculous. Obviously Snapchat is for everyone! It’s available worldwide to download for free,” said a Snap Inc. spokesperson in a statement to BGR India .
