They started swapping those 6 months back for 5G deployment. My area still no deployment by Jio just Airtel deployed 5G on all sites and Jio only 3 sites which aren't near home

My area site still using dual antennas, I think they are swapping the antennas which were deployed in 2015-2017

They're swapping wherever there's no space on the tower for 5G Massive Mimo and N28 RRU

Old neighbour site which served from 2016 got the new antenna while my area site which deployed in 2019 is not swapped

Both are roof top steel towers which have plenty of space, I think they are also considering age of the hardwares

Using Airtel 4G on np1 heats it like anything, between 15 days ago Airtel also installed 5G antennas in my site but not activated it's a microwave backhaul site. That too first Airtel one to get 5G antennas in my location. Still neighbour sites are 4G only

Airtel 5G isn't that good for now in Chennai just 400-600Mbps max on most sites
