Simmtronics is planning to open 10 new offices across India in the next six months. It is upping the strength of resellers from the current 2,000 to 3,000. Plans are also afoot to launch 50 new service centres.
As of now, Simmtronics has 20 offices and service centres, and around 30 sub-distributors. “We will add 20 more sub-distributors, and increase the number of active resellers to 3,000 (from the current 2,000) in the next two years. We will invest Rs 10 crore toward infrastructure and manufacturing. We are increasing our production capacity for all our product lines,” said Indrajit Sabharwal, Chairman, Simmtronics.
The company is also launching 1,000 exclusive Simmstores. “We are focusing on the class B and C cities because they are the fastest rising markets in India and are expected to grow by 50–55 percent this year. These markets are also open to Indian brands and people prefer ‘value for money’ products rather than chasing foreign brands. We would hire atleast 500 people to run the stores,” said Sabharwal.
The Simmstores would display products like Intel, AMD and VIA processor led desktops, notebooks and netbooks, tablets, thin clients, USB flash 2GB—16GB micro SD cards, hard disk drives, graphic cards to name a few.
The new service centres would be located in West Bengal, Orrisa, Bihar, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Jharkhand, Chattisgarh, Gujarat and Rajasthan.
With the new service centres Simmtronics promises a maximum turnaround time of 24 hours to its customers. “We support our partners as well as customers with ‘no questions asked’ policy for returns. We would also provide post-sales support through our authorized service providers across the world, and would provide across the table replacement to customers,” added Sabharwal.
Simmtronics wants to make available the latest technologies in the IT Sector at affordable prices. “We have launched our cheapest desktop in India that comes for Rs 9,999. This SIMM VIA PC offers green computing features and leverages the same board designs across the whole range of VIA Nano processor series. We are also in the process of launching tablets of sub Rs 5,000 and Rs 10,000 that is affordable by end users,” explained Sabharwal.
