Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel are adopting a cautious approach to expanding their 5G network. Reports indicate low capacity utilisation and delayed monetisation have slowed the rollout. Instead, Reliance Jio is placing greater emphasis on transitioning its 4G users to the more expensive, next-generation service. For now, telecom majors are prioritising need-based 5G expansion over aggressive growth.

Telecoms may be holding off on 5G expansion to strengthen 4G: Here's why

What's the max range of jio n28(700mhz) 5g band? Any idea🤔
Can we get jio 5g signal on n28 band at a distance of 4-5km from jio 5g site in rural area?

Yes, you can potentially get Jio's 5G signal on the n28 (700 MHz) band at a distance of 4-5 km in a rural area. The n28 band (700 MHz) is a low-frequency band, which means it has excellent coverage and penetration, especially in open areas.

Expected Range of Jio n28 (700 MHz) 5G Band:

Urban Areas: ~2-3 km (due to obstructions like buildings)
Rural/Open Areas: ~5-10 km (fewer obstructions)

Since rural areas have fewer buildings and interferences, Jio's n28 5G signal should reach 4-5 km easily, provided there are no major obstacles like dense forests or hills. However, actual performance depends on factors like terrain, tower height, and network load.

Does LTE/5G range (signal distance) also depend on the EMF level of that perticular site? Like in my area ( rural) two nearest jio sites are at distance of 2.4 km ( indus site for jio, vi. Airtel) ,4 km( rcom site). It's a pity that none of them have launched 5G yet. But, if they launch 5G service in the future, will we be able to get signals easily?
