Delhi Pollution Control Committee issues an order for a complete ban on all kinds of firecrackers on manufacturing, storage and selling including delivery through online marketing platforms and bursting of all kinds of firecrackers upto 01.01.2025 in the territory of NCT of Delhi.

Good that they banned it for that long. No more waking up only during Diwali about air quality, though it is worst at that time.

Personally, I hate fire crackers. However, I also disliked how these people only acted on it during Diwali. Why not come with a permanent ban?

This should be permanently banned long ago. Along with ban on those loud speakers during religious festivites and cultural events. Noise pollution is one of the least looked over events.

Yeah, true that. People here abuse the hell out of loud speakers. So f****** high bass that everything shakes. And they gotta blast those crackers too on top of that.

Worst thing is, people here do such things even at 11 PM.

Post-Diwali deterioration in air quality resulted in a 30% increase in such respiratory cases over two days. "We're receiving many cases of respiratory distress in outpatient departments. Instances of fever, cough, and eye infections are rising. Patient numbers are expected to escalate further due to heightened pollution levels," stated Virender Yadav, chief medical officer.

You pay for your own sins. Burning crackers now has been politicised and has become an ego issue for right wing. Suffocate and die

Kolkata polution level matches delhi

As high court increased decibel level 120db.

Also no one follow stipulated time frame of bursting crackers as time goes by crackers burning increased

Our area in Bihar witnessed very little bursting of crackers compared to previous years. But that was due to high costs of crackers rather than some environmental reason or gyaan by some woke .i feel gradually the bursting of crackers would come down to minimal level unless people are provoked to do otherwise.
